We have managed to set up the product and imprint information structure of the data provided by the suppliers in such a way that online sales of promotional products including the various editing options is possible directly from a webshop. As with the products, quantity discount pricing has also been added to all editing options in order to calculate the final sales costs of the edited products more accurately. These variable editing costs are, of course, supplemented by a number of fixed editing costs, such as the one-time setup fee.
The rich data standard that we have put together in this way goes even beyond that. All products in our system are classified according to colour and size so that end customers can easily and more clearly choose the colour – size variation they want to order the product. Many products have also been given special properties so that it is possible, for example, to adjust the type of candy in a chosen pot (think of: chewing gum balls, bacon picks, etc.). Resulting in a lower or extra charge for those pot of sweets depending on the sort of candy in the pot. All products that we process and store in our systems are automatically classified by an intelligent recognition program, making them always appear in the right product groups. This means that we do not leave it to the individual supplier, so more automation and less chance for it to go wrong.
